Jolly Roger’s Seafood Restaurant Review, Port Clinton OH

On a recent weekend visit to Port Clinton we made a stop at the Jolly Roger’s Seafood restaurant. This is a moderately sized restaurant on lakeshore drive, near area hotels, and not too far from the beach.

The building is fairly new and sits on a lake front lot with gorgeous lake Erie views. They have indoor and outdoor seating available as well as take out!

We arrived at a prime dinner time, and it was very busy! We waited in a line that reached out the doors. Despite this, the line moved along quickly, the staff was courteous and efficient. While you wait in line there is a viewing window to the kitchen where you can see the process for preparing the fish. Once at the counter you can place your order, and are given a number that you place on the table for food delivery once it’s prepared.

The restaurant interior is fairly modern, with a beachy twist, comfortable, and very clean. The wait staff was very nice and the table bussers worked so fast! I was impressed with how quickly they cleaned up to keep open tables available at all times. It was outstanding!

The menu offers a variety of fish options including fresh perch, walleye, salmon and shrimp. Pretty much all items are battered and fried. For side dishes they have hand cut fries, onions rings, hush puppies, and a cole slaw. They do have posted signs that all items are fried in the same oil, a low fat canola oil, those with severe shellfish allergies need to be aware that the shrimp is potentially cooked in the same oil as your perch or walleye!

We tried the perch and walleye. The servings were huge, very filling and the price was certainly reasonable for what you get.

All in all I highly recommend if you find yourself in the area to give them a try! This is a very nice place to grab a family meal and the views cannot be beat! Enjoy!
