A fantastic gift and yummy treat comes in a simple form. Chocolate covered toffee! The soft sweet chocolate coupled with the crunchy buttery toffee is the perfect compliment to a cup of coffee or alongside your holiday hot chocolate bar!

This is an easy recipe to make although because of the hot sticky candy not a good one for kids in the kitchen. Here is what you need!
- 1 1/2c. Butter
- 1 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp light corn syrup
- 1/4 c. Water
- 10oz semisweet mini chocolate chips
- Crushed pecans (optional)
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a medium saucepan melt the butter. Once melted add the sugar, syrup, and water bring to a boil. Clip Candy thermometer to the pot and cook stirring occasionally until thermometer reads 305°F. Pour hot toffee on the cookie sheet and allow to cool slightly for 1-2 minutes until a skin forms on the top. Top with chocolate chips and cover with foil for 1-2 minutes. Using and offset spatula or the back of a spoon spread the chocolate chips out smooth on top of the toffee. Allow to cool a few more minutes and then refrigerate for 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Cut and store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
