Mirage Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas ~ Review

This weekend we made a quick trip to Las Vegas for a little sunshine and fun. Las Vegas is a great place to go for a few days there is lots to do, it’s always changing, the weather is fabulous, and a few days always feels longer because you’re always being entertained. Like many of our stays we decided to put together a few details and quick trip tips to share with you. So let’s start with the hotel!

We stayed at the Mirage Hotel and Casino it’s located pretty close to center strip. This is an iconic original to the area owned by MGM. Known for the volcano show that goes on nightly from 7pm to 11pm on the hour. You are immediately struck by how green and lush the grounds are here it’s a really beautiful property. We chose this hotel for a few reasons. First because we have never stayed here and wanted to give it a try, second the location is great. It’s very close to the forum shops, the linq promenade, lots of restaurants, and shows. Thirdly and maybe why we opted to go now instead of later is that Mirage is being sold to Hard Rock, and they intend to remove the volcano feature and build a large guitar shaped hotel on the strip. All great reasons to give it a try!

We booked a standard king non-smoking room, we were placed in the south tower with strip views on the sixth floor.

The room was nice, and the entire hotel and casino seemed very clean. The room smelled fresh and clean when we entered it was really nice! We opted out of electronic keys and online check in as we have heard some horror stories about the digital keys. Check in was very fast and friendly, no long wait, and easy.

Some other nice features at the mirage include a large number of restaurants, bars, a night club, the Cirque du Soleil show Love is here. We saw the show several years ago and it is our favorite. If you love the Beatles you will love “Love”. Give it a try. We like it so much we are considering seeing it again!

The Mirage also has one of the best pools in all of Las Vegas, a true tropical paradise, open year round with a heated pool, this oasis is amazing! I may want to try to return in warmer weather so I can get the full pool vibe here I’m sure it is amazing!

So all and all this was a nice stay the staff were all friendly and helpful, the casino floor is nicely laid out, it’s easy to get around in, and so close to a lot of Vegas treasures. I highly recommend you stay in the next year or so before the hotel changes hands officially and the Mirage is no more…Happy travels!
