Drumroll please……my absolute favorite spot on the island, The Keys!! This restaurant and bar is outstanding! First and foremost location, location, location! This restaurant is right on the lakeside next to the Jet express near the downtown excitement. It is a beautiful spot to sit back and relax! They offer a full menu and excellent specialty drinks!
The Keys staff is doing an outstanding job of being in compliance with all of the mandated rules and even went above and beyond with hand sanitizer stations located outside before patrons enter. Mask on until seated and then it may be removed, seating indoors or outdoors is well spaced allowing for more than ample social distancing and all of the staff members and bar tenders diligently wore masks. Also of note this place was spotlessly clean!
We ordered lunch and a frozen cocktail to enjoy (more on that in a minute). I had the cuban and my husband had the perch sandwich both were well prepared and so delicious! The cuban featured a thick cut, house made spicy pickle that was amazing…seriously I could eat a whole jar of just those!
Now on to this cocktail menu…
I order a Book’s Bushwhacker and Andy got a funky monkey frozen cocktail. The bushwhacker tasted like a reese’s pb cup and contained a floater of whiskey. The funky monkey was a banana cocktail with a rum floater, and these were by FAR the best specialty cocktails that we enjoyed! As a matter of fact we left and came back again later for another round!
Round two consisted of the best pina colada I’ve had in a long time! And a hummus platter with fresh veggies on the side a perfect light snack!!
Do yourself a favor and schedule a stop at The Keys in Put-In-Bay. Great service, atmosphere, and selection! Outstanding!!
