Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal

I love oatmeal for breakfast! It’s a perfect warm filling start to the day and it’s easy to mix up the flavor and make it however you like it.

I am particularly fond of steel cut oats with peanut butter. This morning I decided I would jazz it up a little more with bananas and cinnamon too! I can’t say enough good things about this delicious breakfast. Give it a try! Here is what you need.

1 serving of steel cut oats prepared according to package directions

1 ripe banana

1/4c PB2 or low fat peanut butter

2Tbsp organic maple syrup

1/4tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp cinnamon

Slivered almonds or pecans optional

Prepare your oats according to package directions. Add PB2, maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla stir well. Slice a ripe banana and mash half of the slices. Stir the mashed portion into the oatmeal. Top with additional slices of banana, and drizzle a little bit of syrup over the top and sprinkle with a little cinnamon. Add almonds or pecans if desired and serve hot! Enjoy!
