Getting started on those resolutions!

Ok so I have to make concious decisions and put in the effort if I intend to achieve my goals. Setting them is not enough by itself. It’s time to get to work!

I joined the local YMCA. There are other gym options that I think I might have preferred but my daughter Brianna has friends with memberships too and so this made more sense for now.

The Jackson YMCA is actually a pretty nice place. However you have to get past the overwhelming smell of chlorine when you first enter the facility. It was really strong today!! 😝 But the fitness center is usually very clean and the staff is always super friendly!

I’m going to go back to the beginning for just a minute….did I mention I registered online?! I did! It worked great the information was accurate on arrival and my check in was super fast! Good job YMCA tech team that was a major upgrade!

Ok back to the gym I made my first trip of the year this evening. Ran a little more than a mile and concentrated on my upper body workout. It felt good, but I had gotten used to working out with my bff Amber this was a lonely workout!

I mentioned to my husband that it was super busy Tonite and he said great lots of people to talk too! I was like …wait…what?! I’m not talking to strangers!!! Lol a little cliche I guess for a gal with a blog! I basically talk to strangers all the time! 😂

So here’s the question when your working out do you talk to people at the gym that you don’t know? I don’t think I could! So if your chatty Cathy at the gym how do you go about that? Now I’m curious! I’ll keep you posted on my work out adventures! Have a great night!

Remember those resolutions?

So last January, I blogged about my new year’s resolutions. I’m not really a resolution kind of girl. Its not typical of me I should say. I had a few specific goals…

1. Become a morning person

2. Stop procrastinating

3. Do more of what I love!

Well I’m happy to report that I have done a pretty good job of at least two of these things. I have taken more time to do what I love. I have cooked, blogged, decorated, crafted, and done so many things this year that I really love! I hope you did too! Also I have done a better job, although not perfect, of stopping my procrastinating ways and trying to get things done right away! It makes a huge difference!

Now about that morning person thing….How do you people do this!! I hate getting up early, and I can’t seem to force myself out of bed until the very last warm snuggly minute lol! I’m open to advice here folks! I still think I could make an early morning routine work for me. I’m open to hearing your ideas!

I might try setting some new resolutions for 2018. I’ll keep you posted!

Happy New Year!

Another New Year with a fresh start and some amazing possibilities!

I love the new year holiday, it fills me with the hope of dreaming bigger dreams, and being a better person than the year before.

So let’s get right to it! Resolutions!! I have to be honest in that I have never really had a new year resolution before. This year though I contemplated the things holding me back from some of my greatest achievements, and I’m making some changes! Gonna need some coffee for this one.

I am going to turn myself into a morning person. For those who know me try to hold off on the hysterical laughter… I want to find a way to enjoy my early mornings. I plan to get up daily at 6:30am, early but not too early lol. A cup of coffee and a quiet moment to review my plan for the day ahead. This comes to my second resolution, getting organized…again try to stop laughing 😁.

Since this is a bit of a confession here it goes. I procrastinate…a lot. I always seem to think I can get to it later and then my mind jumbles up with a hundred other things and the first task gets lost in the fray. So no more of that this is the year of getting things done, and getting them done now!

Lastly, I’m going to do more of what I love. I’m going to cook, and bake, and Garden, and read good books. I’m going to find my way back to feeling like me again, I’ve been a little off my game the past couple years, maybe for good reason, but maybe not and I intend to make myself whole again.

I started already with a nice update on the house. Our main family room got a much needed upgrade and I’m feeling great about this fresh new zone I’m in.

So here’s to a happy new year! For all of us! Talk to you all soon!!
