I love this time of year, although… Michigan is having a very summer-y fall so far. Today is over 80F!! But, the leaves are turning, the fall decorating has started, and I’m starting to prepare for our annual Halloween party (one of my favorite parties of the year).
I’ve been wading through my instagram pages lately admiring all of the fabulous fall decor projects. The trend this year definitely leans toward the softer colors, mauvy pinks, deep purples, and white are making regular appearances on the front porches of the seasons style-makers. Here are some of my faves, enjoy!
This pic is just gorgeous and so much like Fall in Michigan just gorgeous colors everywhere you look.
This was the first pic I found with the pink, purple combo that I used on my own front yard this season. I just love how pretty it is feminine fall.
The blues and greens are pretty too and such a compliment to the front door!
Again these colors were really calling me this year and look at the dainty candle lanterns. The hint of gold is perfect!
All and all I’d say everyone is having a lot of fun being creative this Fall. I’m going to keep working on the party prep. More to come on that soon! Thanks for reading!
Strolling through Instagram recently I’m seeing this fabulous trend of mirrors on mantles. I love the added architecture, and open feel it gives each room. Here are a few of my favorites, however the geometric mirror shared by @zevyjoy is to die for!! What do you think? Which is your fave?
I hate when I fall behind and have to blog in updates… I haven’t posted in a couple months as things have been crazy as usual so here it is the big update.
We hosted our annual Halloween party and it was a blast! We had a steampunk carnival theme and I was the ring master. A lot of fun was had by all and next year’s theme…drumroll…masquerade! I can’t wait! Here are a few pics from this year’s party!
Once past Halloween, my bff Amber and I had a couple of bff craft nights, we made college football themed door wreaths and in gearing up for Christmas we made gingerbread houses!
The garden center has been busy too! We hand make a huge selection of holiday wreaths and decorations! It’s my favorite season because the creative limitations are lifted!
I’m now in full blown Christmas panic trying to get everything finished before Christmas next Monday! Hope you’ve all had a fantastic holiday season! Here is a picture of the front porch decor, our visit to the community Christmas tree lighting, Nite Lights, and of course my Christmas tree. I’ll be posting more over the next several months! Happy Holidays everyone!
While pondering our up coming winter project the addition of a 3/4bath on the lower level of our house… I decided there is definitely a place in this world for a little bit of glitter. In this case it will come in the form some shiny gold tile work which I recently fell in love with on Instagram. Here are some of my favorites! What do you think?
The Autumn decor trends are now readily available in stores and I found myself truly excited tonight over one particular display at TJ Maxx!
It was gorgeous!! The blue green tones with soft iridescent oranges, gold accents, and even burlap!
I was positively giddy rearranging their display to see how I could pair things up at home lol! I love this time of year! Happy Fall Y’all!!
I have been seeing these simple wooden beads everywhere! They are cute in a rustic kind of way. The creativity of use though! I’ve seen them on coat hooks, mantles, vases, as drapery tie backs, tray decorations, candlestick decorations…and the list goes on! Some people are leaving them as raw wood, some stain them, and some paint them and add patterns. I think I even came across a decoupage version on Pinterest!
Bravo folks, on making this simple little trend so interesting! Pics are c/o @luvewant, @downshilohroad, @inspiredbycharm, and @casabeads
Did you ever sit back and look at your Pinterest boards and wonder if this is a true reflection of you as a person…your likes, loves, and humor all on display.
I hadn’t really thought much about it to be honest until I started this new blog adventure. Then I suddenly realized that Pinterest is not just mindless entertainment while I wait at the doctors office, or in a few quiet moments on the sofa at the end of the night. It really is a pretty good depiction of me as a person when I step back and look at it as a big picture…
Here’s me in Pinterest form…I’m a well dressed middle aged woman, who likes fine jewelry…and I would be considered a bit of an old soul.
I love cooking and baking…and apparently drinking as I have 184 pins on just cocktails!
My home is a mix of mid century modern furniture and vintage reclaimed touches…I’m hyper focus on wall treatments, Yup! A whole category just for the walls…
I’m focused on my business even in my personal time as I set up a “garden center” board too! And, yes the business has it’s own Pinterest page…this is just over kill lol 😄
I couldn’t get away with out a page for parties and entertaining a favorite hobby of mine for sure!
And to top it all off a healthy dose of sarcastic humor!
It’s pretty entertaining to sit back and evaluate your life based on your social media activity! Give it a try and see what Pinterest has to say about you! And if you wanna know more about me follow me on Pinterest! Links below!!
